Do they know it’s Brexit?

11-brexitreactionsAllegedly it’s Christmas and I nearly died laughing at a list of “Brexit Christmas songs” from an un-named source.  He did it as a bit of a joke but got so much grief from some Brexiteers with no sense of humour, so I will not name him here.  I have developed his list into a top 30 all-time Brexit songs. Find my more serious reflections on 2016 and Brexit at “Hatful of Hollow” … anyway, let the chart roll …

  2. With or without EU – EU2
  3. Like a prayer (Brexit Means Brexit) – Madonna feat. Mother Theresa (May)
  4. I believe in a thing called Gove – The Darkness feat. Ian Duncan Smith
  5. Road to nowhere – The Talking Heads (Davis, Fox, Johnson, Farage)

Season’s Greetings

Festive greetings. As in previous years, we prefer to give money to charity instead of giving Christmas cards. This year we are giving our main donation to Demelza House Hospice – a charity that helps terminally ill children live out their remaining days in comfort and dignity.  We are combining our donation with the proceeds from the sale of our song written in honour of Prince earlier in the year. There’s still time to buy the song and donate to the cause if you wish: Bandcamp – 18 and over version, Bandcamp – Bleeped version

Demelza Hospice - a worthy cause that rocks

We have also made a donation to the Wikimedia Foundation – knowledge is such a valuable asset in our quest to make the world a better place.

In the meantime, here is a piece of music I composed and recorded for Christmas in my basement. The piece is themed around Cats and Snow – enjoy !!  All the very best for 2015 🙂

Seasons Greetings

I don’t do Christmas cards any more, but instead give the money to Charity.  This year it’s Demelza Children’s Hospice who we did a concert for earlier in the year which raised £1000.  I’ve just made a festive piece of ambient music inspired by cats !!  A trifle cheesy, but it’s all for a good cause.  Check it out here:

We’re making a proper film for the music in the coming weeks as a more general fundraiser for Demelza.  So, seasons greetings and all the best for 2014!  Here’s a word from our sponsors:

A Christmas Carol

My post for Christmas is pure and simple – a piece of music recorded at The Academy of Rock basement studios, entitled ‘Venus in Aspic’ – The piece lends itself well to Christmas, as it features sleigh bells and an overall ‘pentatonic’ feel.  Here is an extract from the piece set to some festive images:

The full piece may be found at our Music Site.

Wishing you a peaceful Christmas and a happy new year.
